    The Muslim Student Association (MSA) of Penn State-Berks, in Reading, PA, hosted an Interfaith Dinner. Speakers A. Fazlullah (CAIR-Philadelphia Executive Committee Member), Pastor David Hershey (chaplain and advisor to the Christian Student Fellowship), and Rabbi Matthew Abelson (Kesher Zion Synagogue) addressed the topic of “The Importance of Interfaith Dialogue and its textual basis in each tradition.” In attendance were nearly 70 students and community members, including Dr. R. Keith Hillkirk, the Chancellor of Penn State-Berks.

    The Muslim Student Association (MSA) of Penn State-Brandywine hosted an event discussing “How Muslims View Themselves and Others.” CAIR-Philadelphia was invited to speak on the topic. The first half was a talk explaining the basics of Islamic tenets, theology, practice and history. During the second half, questions were fielded from the 50+ students in attendance.

  • Intro to Islam at North Penn High School

    CAIR-Philadelphia presented an Introduction to Islam talk at North Penn High School in Lansdale, PA. Presentations took place from first through fourth periods. In total, nearly 200 students at one of the largest public high schools in Montgomery County participated. Since the students had already studied the basics of Islam, such as the 5 pillars, the event exposed students to concepts such as scriptural analysis of Surah Al-Fatiha, the continuity of revelations and prophets among the Abrahamic faiths, being Muslim in America and discussion of contemporary events.
