Member, CAIR-Philadelphia Advisory Board

Nevan was born and raised in Cairo, Egypt. She graduated from Cairo Medical College, Cairo University and moved to US to join her husband and raise her two children in Radnor Township, Pennsylvania.

She became a member of outreach committee at Villanova Islamic Foundation and started a women’s group for Islamic Studies in 2003 and recently moved this group to Islamic Society of Greater Valley Forge. In 2010, she was invited to join the interfaith group at St. John Presbyterian Church and she started attending the Bible study group where she learned about the Old and New testaments, finding similarities and differences to Islamic belief. Understanding other religions helped her become more grounded in her own tradition and more able to work with others to bridge differences.

She is also a member of the “Sisterhood of Salaam Shalom” organization and “Daughters of Abraham” book club.
